Do I need a website if I already have the Google listing?

If you do not have a Google Business Profile yet, stop reading and open one. It costs nothing, it puts you on the map, and in your trade that is where the fastest calls come from.

Anyone charging you to open the listing is charging for something you do in twenty minutes. What actually takes work is keeping it alive and full of reviews.

Where the listing alone runs out

• The map shows three. Miss those three and the listing brings you nothing that day. Below the map the regular results continue, and only people with a site are in there.
• It has no room for what makes them pick you. A listing has no place for the price by house size and what is included, no mystery, and that is exactly what decides the call.
• Google rewards it when it points somewhere. A listing with its own consistent site has more to prove it is real than a listing floating alone.
• It does not cover the long searches. People search well past your trade: prices, timelines, comparisons. A page answers those.

The listing attracts, the page convinces

In house cleaning the customer takes their time. The listing finds you, but the decision gets made by reading, comparing and looking at your work. That happens on a page, not on a map.

So the useful part is the order: the listing first because it is free, and the page after because it catches everyone the listing did not reach.

When the listing has you covered

If your route is full and you do not want to hire, or you already sit in the map three for your area and cannot keep up, stay with the listing and spend nothing.
