SEO for electricians, with the real search numbers
SEO for electricians means showing up for free when someone near you searches for an electrician or a specific installation: in the map at the top of Google and in the websites below it. "Electrician near me" alone gets about 368,000 searches a month in the US, and installations like EV chargers, panel upgrades and whole house generators each have thousands more. The map depends on your Google Business Profile and your reviews. The rest depends on a page that names each installation the way people search it.

The electrician market splits into two kinds of search. "Electrician near me" and "emergency electrician" come from someone with a problem today. The installation searches (EV chargers, panels, generators, rewiring) come from someone planning a project. In our data, "commercial electrician", "emergency electrician" and "rewiring a house" have difficulty scores of zero, which means few pages are built to answer them.
Step 1: the Google Business Profile
- Primary category: "Electrician". Add real secondary ones, like "Electrical installation service" or "Lighting contractor".
- Service areas, with the address hidden if you go to the customer. See how to set your service area.
- Services one by one: panel upgrades, EV charger installation, generator installation, rewiring, lighting, emergency service.
- Hours that are true, and say so if you take emergency calls.
- Photos of installs: the panel, the charger, the generator, with the city.
- Reviews after every job, naming the installation and the city. How to ask is in getting Google reviews.
Step 2: a page that names every installation
- Your license number as text near the top. In Florida it's an EC or ER number.
- Phone at the top, dialing when tapped, with emergency service if you offer it.
- A section per installation, with the searched words in the heading: EV charger installation, electrical panel upgrade, whole house generator installation.
- Residential and commercial kept separate. "Commercial electrician" is its own search with almost no competition.
- A starting price for common jobs, if you're willing.
- The cities you cover, written out.
We reviewed ten real electrician websites in Miami in the best electrician websites. Five of the ten show their license on the homepage, and only one publishes prices.
Step 3: pages by installation and city
Once the main page works, installations are the best candidates for their own pages: EV chargers, panel upgrades and generators each have thousands of searches and a clear buyer. Add the city when you have real jobs there: "EV charger installation in Kendall" with photos of chargers you've installed there.
Step 4: listings and links
Keep your name, phone and address the same on Google, Bing, Apple Maps, Yelp, BBB and Nextdoor. Useful links come from manufacturers if you're a certified installer (charger and generator brands have installer directories), suppliers, builders and property managers you work with.
What not to pay for
- Anyone promising first place on Google.
- Monthly SEO on top of a page that lists "electrical services" without naming a single installation. Fix the page first.
- Fake reviews. They get removed and can get the profile suspended.
If you'd rather not do the monthly part yourself, our local SEO plan keeps your Google profile current and adds something new to your site every month, for $59 a month with no contract.

What people usually ask
What is electrician SEO?
It's what makes an electrician show up in Google without paying per click: a complete Google Business Profile, steady reviews, a website that names each installation and city, and a few real local links.
What should an electrician rank for first?
The installations you want more of. EV chargers, panel upgrades and generators have thousands of monthly searches and clear buyers. "Commercial electrician" and "emergency electrician" have almost no competition in our data.
How long does it take?
The Google profile can bring calls within weeks if the category and reviews are right. New pages take months to rank, longer on a new domain.
Is SEO or Google Ads better for electricians?
Ads bring calls today at around $23 to $43 per click on the main searches. SEO takes months and then keeps working without paying per click. Most electricians who grow use both.
