Schema (structured data)
Invisible tags that tell Google what each thing on your page is: this is a phone number, that is your hours, that other one is a price.
A person reads your site fine. A machine has to guess. Schema removes the guessing: it explicitly marks the business name, address, phone, FAQs and reviews.
It does not raise your ranking by itself. What it does is make your result show up with more inside it, like stars or expandable questions, and that does get you more clicks.
For AI search it matters even more, because a machine assembling an answer prefers data that is labeled over data it has to infer.
What to do about it
This is not something you add by hand. Ask whoever builds your site whether it ships with local business structured data, and to show you the proof.
